It’s one week before the Board of Governors will meet to go over the names of those interested in the state university system chancellor’s job, but as of today, Florida Atlantic University President Frank Brogan isn’t an official candidate.

Brogan has expressed interest in the job following solicitations from unknown sources. I asked today if he made a decision over the weekend, but was told he hadn’t. The job helps oversee Florida’s 11 public universities.

The Board of Governors is expected to get a list from its head-hunting firm this week and a spokesman has promised to forward it on to all interested media as soon as it arrives. He expects to see the list late Thursday or Friday.

In unrelated news, a video popped up today with President Brogan touting a new development called Destiny. Located south of Orlando, it is expected to be America’s first eco-sustainable city. The developer is Delray Beach’s Anthony Pugliese.

The spokeswoman for Destiny said Brogan is just a supporter of the plan and wanted to let people know about it.
